Ariana

I’ve known of Ariana for a few years.  She’s an amazing photographer & creator, and I’ve followed her blog & have learned so much from her posts.  It wasn’t until this year though that we connected & realized we live down the road from each other (and share much love for a local pizza place), and I had an awesome opportunity to assist her last month while she was just a few weeks shy of giving birth to twins.

I got the text from A just a few days before the twins were due to make their big entrance, asking if I would like to photograph the birth.  I flipped.  Seriously flipped.  Drop-everything-feels-like-someone-just-gave-me-best-gift-ever flipped.  I’ve wanted to photograph an actual birth since I became serious about photography however long ago, and what an honor to have the opportunity to capture a friend’s birth… with 2 babies!!

Long story short, the hospital made a last minute decision the morning-of that only allowed 1 person in the delivery room.  Clearly the choice would be A’s husband, and I couldn’t be more excited for them!!  As thrilled as I was for the opportunity to capture the actual birth, I was even more thrilled to capture the babies just minutes old and the first moments of this family together (big brother Jasper was holding down the fort at preschool that morning!).

What a perfect day to have 2 babies!  Ariana gave birth at 7:42am & 7:43am on a gorgeous crisp sunny fall morning, with the moon setting over the trees about to change for the season…

Love.Meet Willow… such a little sweet love…… bless her heart, she’s not a fan of getting her blood sugar checked… … I couldn’t resist a peek under the cap of all of her hair!Meet Sasha… isn’t she perfection too? After a short time in the nursery for blood sugar checks and their first baths, the girls were back with mom & dad… and mum-mum & pop-pop stopped by to meet their sweet granddaughters!
Someone’s sleepy Sleepy x2 So beautiful.  So amazing.  x3

Ariana & Jeff – Congratulations on your beautiful, sweet, perfectly adorable little girls!!!  Thank you so much for allowing me to be there to capture your beautiful family.  It was an honor to be in the room with you at such a special moment in your lives, and to witness you growing as a family of 5!   If you need anything (including pizza), I’m just down the road… 🙂
