With the exception of shooting a few very exciting projects at the beginning of this year, it’s been a quiet 2014 for Heather Photography. It’s so hard to believe I’m headed into my 4th year of business – what a dream it’s been to look back at all of the images I’ve taken for so many wonderful people over the years and reflect. These cold winter months have allowed me the quiet time to slow down and take a step back to evaluate where I’ve come from, and where I’m going…
And this I know for certain…
I get such a thrill from picking up my camera. Story telling… a beginning, middle, and end… of our time together. Taking that traditional portrait that grandma wants framed for her coffee table, and then stepping out of the box and taking many more not-so-traditional images. Capturing the details. Capturing the smiles. Or not a smile. Maybe it’s just a look. Or a feeling. The real moments, real emotions. Capturing you, in motion. Your life. Having a big playdate with families. Soaking in the moments with my camera and freezing time.
And I know that I want to continue this journey.
While reflecting on the direction of my business during the quiet season, a big exciting change has come our way…
We are moving to Virginia !!!
We are moving to my home state this summer, and Heather Photography will be making the move as well. New Jersey has been where I’ve started my journey as HP, and I’m a big mixed bag of emotions over the move… I’m sad to leave behind so many amazing clients who are more than just that to me that I’ll miss so dearly… yet so excited to live near my family again. And nervous… anxious… thrilled… you name it.
Our move will happen sometime this summer, and I still have a few available dates left in the NJ/NYC metro area before we pack up and head South.
I just want to say thank you so very much to all who have been a part of my journey these last years… whether having me capture your special moments, being a supportive friend in my corner, or taken a quick second to say something lovely of one of my images… you have no idea how much it means to me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
I look forward to Heather Photography’s next chapter this Fall in the state that proudly proclaims Virginia is for Lovers.
