Neptune | Fuzzy Face

BIG animal lover.  Yep, that’s me.  I recently donated a complimentary pet session for the CLAWS pet rescue organization‘s fundraiser night, and Neptune was the big winner!

Oh Neptune… the most lovable furry mush of a golden retriever.  He’s a special guy who has been by his mom’s side for over 12 years now, and he’s in the last chapter of his doggie life.  His mom and I had a wonderful pre-session phone chat where she let me know about his ailments (one including the inability to walk more than 50 feet with his legs giving out), so we picked a special park by their home (where he could get out of the car and be next to grassy fields) to have our session.    It was a super-sunny & super-windy day, but we made the best of it and took it one step at a time, letting Neptune guide us to what he was comfortable with & what makes him happy.  Nep’s mom was thrilled to see him light up like a puppy when he arrived at the park, and even had a little spring to his step with playing ball and munching on his squeaky toys (something he’s not done in weeks).

Neptune’s mom was so thankful for winning our session together, and I couldn’t be more thankful and happy that they won.  I left our session with my heart filled with love & gratitude for the amazing hour I spent with them together, capturing their bond.  They might’ve won the session, but I feel like I was the one who hit the jackpot.

Thrilled.  Absolutely thrilled to see Neptune pep up and want to play ball!!  I think his smile says it all.   🙂

Time for a little break after the playtime…

Just a quick fix before camera-time again… such a mom  😉

What a handsome guy!

L. O. V. E.  I’m pretty sure this photo says it all.

Love.  Love.  Love.

After Neptune’s little walk, we ended our session with a wagging tail and many hugs and kisses.  I couldn’t ask for a better ending.  🙂

Are you a pet lover?  Do you know someone who thinks of their pet as a family member?  If so, contact me for information on a special pet photography session!

PS – Check out this CLAWS adoption event that I photographed last fall.  So many wonderful dogs & cats that are in need of a forever home… do you know of anyone who would love to adopt a furry family member?
