Snowday!!!

If you would’ve told me a few months ago that we’d have a crazy massive storm with heavy snow and winds in October and then 60* days in January, I would’ve thought it’s time to get your noodle checked.  Good ol’ Mother Nature did a little swicharoo on us up here in the Northeast the weekend before Halloween, which started with a super -fun snow storm!  The flakes were coming down big & fast, which made for some awesome snowball making fun in our front yard!

I couldn’t resist grabbing my camera and taking the boys outside (with the help of my parents, who happened to be up visiting for the weekend).  I was a sight for sore eyes – wearing my straw sun hat with my winter jacket (thank goodness no pics of THIS outfit!), hoping that the wide brim of the hat would shield my camera (somewhat) from the wet snow falling.  Duh Heather… straw hat gets wet = straw hat gets soggy & limp.  Straw hat does not = waterproof.  So much for my split second solution.  🙂

I was outside for ~30mins until my camera (and my hat) couldn’t take it anymore… wayyyy too wet for expensive electronic equipment!  Here are some (ok, a lot!) of my favorite images, which you also might recognize a few that made it onto our family Christmas card for 2011!

Oh, and I happened to snap a few of Cooper on that very same day watching the snow falling from the comforts of a windowseat inside our home… you can take a look here.  Such a sweet face.  🙂

Without further ado… it’s snow time!!!

(ps – fasten your seat belts, because this is going to be a long one!)

Gotta start with this one… Lukas all ready & waiting to go outside…

Note the pumpkin.  Not even Halloween yet & we’ve got SNOW!  GG getting Noah ready on our front porch…

This guy can’t wait to throw the first snowball…

First snowball for this little guy, too!

Love this sequence shot with Grandpa & Lukas…

This one ended up on the front of our Christmas card 🙂

Watch out now.  Noah’s winding up and ready to let loose.  See how cute & adorable he looks in the 1st pic below?  That can only mean one thing… Ready.  Aim.  FIRE on Mommy with camera!!

This is one of my all time favorites of Lukas…. ever.  I just love the melted snow on his face and his long eyelashes.  I’m so glad he stood still for a second (while packing a snowball in his hands) for me to capture this!!

One of my favs of Noah… Noey Snowy is one of my nicknames for him, and I love that this pic captures that perfectly 🙂

A little tackle time with Noah and Grandpa…

Another sequence shot with Lukas and Grandpa… Lukas made a huge snowball and was so excited to throw it, but it broke apart riiiiggghhhtttt before…

They had so much FUN!!

GG & Grandpa rocked it OUT with the boys & they had such a blast together!  So glad they were visiting that weekend & the priceless memories we’ll all have together from this crazy storm!

Happy Snowstorm.  Happy playtime.  Happy Winter.  Happy Holidays.  Happy 2012.  Happy everything to you ALL!!!

Jeff Goodman - This day was magic. I have never enjoyed snow so much in my life – except for my first time sledding with Heather! And even with no power it got better: dinner by candlelight, then Gigi reading A Charlie Brown Christmas to the boys under the covers by candle light. Ah.ReplyCancel
