Every photographer learns *something* during a session, whether they’ve been in the business for days, months, or years… and in my case, I sure learned a big lesson with this one! Start laughing now… ha ha (story to follow at the end)
I’m getting excited about my MINI SESSIONS on Nov 5th! I’ve been thinking & thinking on where I want to take photos for my minis, and a particular place popped into mind! There was a break with all of this rainy weather, and I asked Lexi last minute if she could come along and assist me as I shot a few images on the grounds. Well, she rocks and said yes to coming along, and we were off for an impromptu session! The location is a 15 min drive from my home, and when we left it started to rain outside…. again (shocker). I had a hunch it was just a passing shower and a hope that it wasn’t raining a few miles away… and LUCKY ME!
We had so much fun playing that we must’ve been outside for what was a regular session time!! Haha. Except for the chill in the damp air, it was perfect!! And juuusssttt as the sun went down and I worked that last little bit of light left from the sky, it started to rain again… which was perfect because we were ready to call it a day and jump in the car, crank up the heat, and head back! I put my hand in my pocket, and no keys. Hmm. Check the other pocket. And the others. Nothing. Check my camera bag. Nada. Check everywhere. NO KEYS!!!
I knew the keys were IN my pocket before & during the shoot, which means that if they weren’t there now – they had fallen out. EEEK!! So as Lexi camped out under an awning with my equipment, I headed out into the rain. Nothing like a desperate search for keys on wet grass at twilight!!! It took a good 15mins to find them, but I DID!!! There they were, in the middle of a field getting rained on.
Sooo… my lesson learned is to never keep my keys in pocket during a session. Always clip them onto my camera bag. And that is definitely a LESSION LEARNED for me!! 🙂
But even with all of that silliness, I wouldn’t change a thing… and here are a few reasons why…
HOORAY for finding keys!!! Haha 🙂
There’s still time & a few spots available for a MINI SESSION on November 5th! Call or email if you have any questions or ready to book!
