IHF | Tickled Pink

This week’s theme at I Heart Faces is all about pink, in honor of breast cancer awareness…

I recently had a session with Lexi, and this image immediately came to mind.  With her shirt, the statue she’s standing in between, and the shadows casting a pinkish glow onto her skin, there’s no doubt of representing this week’s pink theme!  But this photo connects because of much more.  Lexi’s mother, Anna, is a breast cancer survivor.

I can’t help but post just a little note on Anna.  She is one in a million.  She’s my neighbor, who I instantly connected & felt a bond with her & her family.  They are family I didn’t even know I had until I met them, and they have a way of making each and every one of their friends feel this same love & connection.  A truly special feeling that can’t be put into words.  Anna was diagnosed with breast cancer a week before her 40th birthday, and underwent a double mastectomy, chemo, and radiation.  She is now cancer-free & it’s a blessing to have such an amazing human being still with us on this planet!
